Met officials predict a drastic increase in humidity over the next two days, with small patches of fog hanging around the coastal areas.
The nights are likely to be particularly sultry and foggy and the officials at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology advised caution for motorists.
Visibility levels are likely to come down during night time and early morning, particularly in coastal areas, as the humidity as high as 99 per cent would help form patches of fog cover which might appear suddenly in many places.
According to the centre, that temperatures on Thursday would cross 45°C in the interior southwest regions, 44°C in the interior northern regions, 42°C on the west coast and islands, 41°C on the northern coast, 38°C on the east coast, and 37°C in the eastern mountainous regions.
However, as the wind eases up people will be relieved from the dusty conditions prevalent in most coastal areas over the last few days.
The easing up of winds would also make seafaring more favourable.
