GCC countries condemn Iranian attacks on Kuwait
UAE and other GCC nations strongly condemned Iranian attacks on Kuwait Thursday morning.
Kuwait's Foreign Ministry strongly condemned on Thursday the Iranian attacks targeting its territories with missiles and drones, describing them as a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of the country's sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
In a press release, carried by KUNA, the Foreign Ministry affirmed that the attacks posed a direct threat to civilians and vital facilities and came at a time when intensive efforts were being exerted by sisterly and friendly countries to reduce tensions and prevent further escalation in the region.
The ministry said the attacks undermine diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving regional security and stability, calling on Iran to immediately and unconditionally halt such attacks and holding it fully responsible for the aggression.
It stressed that the attacks constituted a flagrant violation of international law, the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026.
The ministry affirmed Kuwait's full right to take all necessary measures to safeguard its security and defend its territory and vital facilities against any aggression or threat in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and international law.
Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s strongest condemnation of the hostile missile and drone attacks directed at the State of Kuwait.
In a statement, the ministry reaffirmed the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of all forms of aggression that violate state sovereignty or threaten the security and stability of the region.
The Kingdom also expressed its full solidarity with the government and people of Kuwait, reiterating its unwavering support for all measures undertaken by Kuwait to preserve its sovereignty, security, stability, and the safety of its citizens.
Qatar
The State of Qatar strongly condemned the targeting of the State of Kuwait with missiles and drones, considering it a blatant violation of its sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law.
In a statement on Thursday, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need to spare the region the consequences of these unjustified attacks and to work towards de-escalation in order to restore regional and international security and stability.
The ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's full solidarity with the State of Kuwait and its support for all measures taken by Kuwait to preserve its sovereignty and security.
Bahrain
The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the blatant Iranian attack targeting the State of Kuwait with missiles and drones, which was claimed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in a flagrant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as the principles of good neighbourliness and international law.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s full solidarity with the State of Kuwait and its support for all measures and steps it takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, commending the readiness of the Kuwaiti armed forces in confronting this blatant attack with high efficiency and competence.
