Annexed units of low-cost houses can be leased

Owners of low-cost houses in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will be allowed to let annexed units to families under new instructions issued by General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

The new instructions define these units as those demolished and rebuilt or those obtained construction permissions for additional units before issuance of administrative order 108 dated 23 September 2010 which allows building of only one unit upon recommendation of a technical committee after consideration of the special social cases of applicants.

The move underlines the determination of the wise leadership to provide citizens with all means of decent living and welfare as part of its policy to achieve social and economic stability.

Sheikh Mohammed's instructions demonstrate the care the UAE leadership lends to sustaining and enabling infrastructure so it could implement sustainable development plans and pave the way for urban planning in the Emirate. Moreover, this will portray the bright and civilisational image of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in particular, and the UAE, in general.
