DEC takes part in China's trade training programme

Two Emirati employees from the Dubai Economic Council (DEC) recently completed a training programme organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

The two researchers from the Economic Research and Policy Centre, the operational arm of the DEC Eshraq Al Maamari and Niama Al Ali participated in the Training programme “Arab International Chambers of Commerce” which took place in China, Beijing, from April 25 – May 16 2013.

The programme consisted of several training courses that centered around China’s economic development, regional economic conditions, investment opportunities with Arab countries, etc.

In addition to attending the international Halal food Exhibition, Halal food certification training, meetings with the local governments in each province that was visited.

Sheikha Mona Al Moalla, DEC Chief Operating Officer, Strategic Planning & Operations stated “believing is seeing for yourself.

"I believe a lot can be achieved by learning, experiencing, and training both your mind and your soul. China is a wonderful country where you can be trained for many things without your realising," she said.

Sheikha Mona also said that these programmes are a result of the strategic collaboration between the DEC and CCPIT.

The partnership between the entities seeks to strengthen ties between the two countries through exchanging experiences, sharing knowledge and data with economic decision-making and economic policy research centers in China in a direction that boosts economic relations between Dubai/ UAE and China.

A number of activities were scheduled for the participants which included a seminar with the local government in Xining, a meeting with the CCPIT branch in Xining, trade and investment round table meeting of Muslim Chambers of Commerce, meeting with local governments in Tangshan & Datong and visiting manufacturing facilities.
