DMI TV broadcasts cover two-thirds of the world
Following the orders of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the directives of Dubai Deputy Ruler and Chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) announced that it has completed its coverage of television broadcast to all parts of the world through the launch of a number of its channels via the satellite 'Asia Sat 5', covering more than two thirds of the world's population.
Thanks to this qualitative new achievement, DMI will be able to access to nearly 800 million viewers from 53 countries through its two channels 'Dubai TV' and 'Dubai Sports'.
DMI has clarified that this big development will enable it to enhance its competitiveness at the international level having managed to consolidate its position as the largest Arab media institution.
In furtherance of this important achievement, DMI has inked agreements with a number of the top international hotel chains operating in the vast geographic area covered by 'Asia Sat 5' to ensure the provision of 'Dubai TV and Dubai sports broadcast channels to more than 162,000 hotel rooms in Asia.
On this occasion, Managing Director of Dubai Media Incorporated Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, said the move reflects Sheikh Mohammed’s unremitting keenness to upgrade and promote our media and bring them to the highest levels of excellence, to provide the largest segment of the Arabic speakers in the world, away from their homelands, with the possibility of getting connected with their roots and culture.
He added that the expansion of DMI television broadcast reflects its international tendencies towards presenting to the world the lustrous side of Arabian culture and shedding more light on our most important cultural achievements through delivering a rich and diverse content that keeps pace with the requirements of modern age.
