His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Umm al-Qaiwain, has ordered an increase in salaries of employees of Umm Al Qaiwain government.

Emiri decree No. 2 of 2013, which invoked law No. 5 of 2006 regarding the civil service in the emirate, stated that a 70 per cent complementary allowance will be added to the basic salary of Emirati government employees in the emirate. Emiratis working at local Police will also get a 40 per cent complementary allowance of the inclusive salary package.

The decree shall take effect from the date of issue and be published in the official gazette.

Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm al-Qaiwain, paid profound gratitude to Sheikh Saud for the generous gesture, saying it would lift the living costs burden and ensure job stability.

''It is one of many generous grants Sheikh Saud used to offer to employees in the emirate. It demonstrates HH's commitment to secure decent life to  employees and their families,'' he added.

He said the inclusive development the UAE has made under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Their Highnesses Rulers of Emirates is a direct fruition of security and safety as well as social and political stability in the UAE.

He said the pay hike comes within the emirate's strategy to improve performance to respond to transformations the emirate is currently experiencing towards development.

The salary rise, he said, would encourage beneficiaries of the grant to exert more efforts for preserving gains and maintaining security and stability.
