Gen. Mohammed stresses importance of educational sector

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, underlined the importance of the educational sector for consolidating the ongoing process of development and construction, describing it as the corner stone for all the strategic and developmental plans due to its great effect on the present and future.
Sheikh Mohammed made his remarks while presiding over Abu Dhabi Executive Council meeting at his court. During the meeting a host of projects were approved in relation to education, health and housing sectors as well as energy. Progress of work in projects underway was reviewed and relevant decisions were taken to ensure success to these projects.

The educational sector is considered the vital artery for sustainable development and the ideal way for nations’ progress and prosperity. For this sector has always been in the forefront of the wise leadership of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who always gives directives to secure all the requirements that enable workers in this sector to fulfill their duties properly, increase their productivity and ensure a better living conditions for all of them.

The projects and initiatives launched within the educational sectors are but a manifestation of our deep pride in all workers in this sector and our appreciation to all remarkable efforts and dedication to build the UAE citizens.

The Crown Prince affirmed that issues related to education, health and housing have always been at the top of the government agenda. This is due to their direct impact on the present and future of the people of this country. The UAE citizen being is the real asset of our state and he is the basic pillar to move forward for further progress and success. Providing him with honorable life together with high quality of education, health and housing services will remain at the center stage of our attention and care in a way that guarantees his benefits from the gains of comprehensive development in the UAE.

Credence of government schools organizational structure & employees payroll structure

The Council endorsed the public schools new organizational structure as well as school employees payroll structure of the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The new payroll covers salaries and wages of all workers in schools including teachers, school principals, their assistants and all members of the administration staff aiming upgrade the quality of teaching. The step also aims to expand people’s participation within a fully integrated and comprehensive vision to improve performance of school workers with special emphasis on promoting status of the educating sector.

The new organizational structure represents one of the main elements of the new school model that care about school administration governance, serving to achieve the desired objectives such as creating jobs that do not exist at present and  updating the roles assigned to some basic jobs at schools. The payroll system associated with this structure ensures a better work environment where governance principles can be applied in a way that improves quality of teaching and attract and retain highly qualified teachers.

The  major standards used in designing the wholly updated payroll structure took into account the correlation between the jobs, the work circumstances and levels of progress. These standards also ensure smooth application and sustainability within an integrated methodology that helps coordination and compatibility with a human resources comprehensive programme.

The new payroll system guarantees better salaries including competitive bonuses that is allied with the size of work and skills, allowing the increase of participation of citizens by attracting them to work as teachers and be good citizens serving as role models for their students.

1,000 new villas for Al Falah Housing Project

The council approved the building of 1000 new villas at Al Falah Housing Project to increase the number of housing units up to 5,857.

The villas have been designed to befit with the Emirati family’s life style and in a way that strengthen social bonds between residences in the area. The housing project includes infrastructure facilities designed according to the highest quality standards. These include 28 mosques, 16 government and private schools in addition to other service and social facilities.

Tender was awarded to establish Disease Prevention and Screening Center

As part of Abu Dhabi government strategy to improve health services in the Emirate, the council members to award the tender to set up a center for Disease Prevention and Screening Center with a total cost of  Dh331.7 million which also covers appliances needed to operate the center.

The project aims to increase capacity of medical centers and improve quality of health services as well as classifying clients according to their social class and educational level. The center will help promote community health security through conducting periodical tests, applying preventive awareness programmes, and providing secure work environment  that ensures prevention and protection for the center’s employees and visitors through raising standards of vocational health and safety.

Awarding of tender to establish Abu Dhabi Medical Rehabilitation Center

The Council also agreed  to award the bid to establish Abu Dhabi Medical Rehabilitation Center at a total cost of Dh596 million.

The center is consider a specialized facility for medical rehabilitation that will be working in cooperation with other health centers in the Emirate to provide health services to patients whose health conditions require medical rehabilitation including physical therapy after undergoing medical treatment in hospitals

The center will provide highly qualified medical cadres, will offer new services Cerebral palsy and multi-atherosclerosis patients as well as victims of road accidents This will enhance the level of medical services provided by the government  hospitals, that are currently receiving such cases in the various medical units. In addition, this will support the patients and their families by providing specialized center with expertise in these majors.

Children without parental care to enjoy health benefits provided to normal citizens.

The council decided to grant health insurance card "thiqa", a special card for children without parental care and will be managed by Zayed Higher Foundation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs.

The decision was taken in support of this group of children and provide them with full medical insurance as their harsh circumstances deprived them from living a normal family life. Such an initiative support those groups and asset in bring them up as normal individuals who enjoy self-confidence and are capable of interaction and integration within the whole community.

Approval of Natural Liquid Gas Importation Plant Project

The council approved a project to construct, operate and maintain a plant to import natural liquid gas located at Al Fujairah off coast with a total capacity of 1.2 billion cubic meters a day of clean and high quality natural gas.

The project aims to meet the growing demand for electricity, increase natural gas supplies to the UAE and provide a new source of energy compatible with the environment standards. In addition it will assist supporting the process of sustainable development in the long run.

Providing support to facilities subsidized by Khalifa Fund for Project Development

The Executive Council approved new mechanism to provide financial support to facilities subsidized by Khalifa Fund for Project Development, in what is related to the activates of the municipalities in Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The new mechanism aims to offer all kinds of potential support to entities operating under the umbrella of the municipality and create the best circumstances for youth project economic investment. This would help increase these entities’ clients, expand their activities and enhance their competitiveness in the local market.

This decision was also taken to encourage youth group to opt for entrepreneurship, do businesses and improve their income to activate various economic sectors. This would secure  a descent life for all sects of the community and push economic investment forward to realize sustainable development.
