Hamdan subsidises Dubai public libraries

Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has issued his orders to provide Dubai’s public libraries with latest publications and resources with a total value up to Dh1 million.

Sheikh Hamdan’s gesture aims to encourage reading and enrich public libraries in Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan’s directives came during a soiree organised by Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Centre and Hamdan bin Mohammed Initiative of Literary Creativity on the sideline of the 33rd Session of Sharjah International Book Fair; the soiree was attended by the Jury of Al Bayt programme.

Sheikh Hamdan’s generous gesture is an opportunity for Dubai’s public libraries to supply its branches and subsidiaries with latest publications issued by local, regional and international publishers in various aspects of knowledge and literature.

Hamdan appoints Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council (DSC), has issued a resolution appointing Saeed Mohammed Hareb as a Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council.

 The resolution is effective from the date of issuance.
