Khalifa, Mohammed receive King of Bahrain

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, received King Hamad bin Eisa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, who arrived in the UAE on a private visit, at Al Rawdah Palace in Al Ain on Wednesday.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was present at the meeting.

The UAE President welcomed King Hamad and the delegation accompanying him, wishing them a good stay in their second country.

The two sides discussed the fraternal relations between the two countries in the light of the existing ties of cooperation. They also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Arab, regional and international arenas.

Sheikh Khalifa stressed the UAE's support for the Kingdom of Bahrain, expressing the hope that Bahrain would see more progress and prosperity.

For his part, King Hamad expressed his pleasure on visiting his second country and at meeting with the UAE President. He commended the stance of the UAE towards his kingdom. King Hamad expressed the keenness of the kingdom to strengthen its ties with the UAE in the best interest of the two peoples.

The King of Bahrain praised the effective role of the UAE under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa, citing his support for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and all Arab issues.

Sheikh Khalifa hosted a lunch banquet in honour of King Hamad and his entourage.
