Kuwait Declaration calls for joint GCC action

The "Kuwait Declaration" of the 34th GCC Summit of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States, hosted in Kuwait, has called for concerted action to safeguard the GCC security.

Read by Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary General of the GCC, the Declaration called for strengthening the joint GCC action to bolster the economy and implement all the resolutions issued by the GCC regarding the economic aspect.

Their Majesties and Highnesses, leaders of the GCC urged for more development projects to meet aspirations of the GCC citizens. They stressed the need for implementing all the resolutions issued by the GCC and review the resolutions, which have not been so far implemented.

The Declaration also called for speeding up the integration of infrastructure projects such as railway, electricity and water linkage, as well as preservation of environment. It expressed unlimited support for all efforts aimed at investing the energy of youth to expanding cooperation among the youth in the Gulf countries.

It assigned the GCC Secretariat to communicate with people in the GCC states to closely get acquainted with their views and proposals aimed at cementing the common action.

The Kuwait Declaration of the Gulf leaders underlined the importance of continuing all efforts to achieving economic integration, including the removal of all obstacles facing the creation of the common Gulf market and the custom union in order to boost trade exchange.

It pushed for exerting more efforts to complete all requirements to set up the monetary union with the objective to reaching the single Gulf currency, in compliance with the Economic Agreement.

After the declaration Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of Kuwait, Chair of the Current Summit, said the event was a platform to exchange views on the issues and challenges that face the GCC, thanking the GCC leaders for attending the two-day event.

Mohammed bin Rashid arrives home

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has returned from Kuwait after leading the UAE delegation to the GCC 34th summit, which concluded this afternoon.

 He was received at Dubai International Airport by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and a number of senior officials.
