Maktoum urges DMI to attract young Emiratis

Emirati professionals should be given full opportunity to shape the UAE’s media landscape, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Media Inc. (DMI), said on Sunday.

''The UAE citizen has proven his competence and ability to shoulder responsibility in different positions and has shown high efficiency as a pivotal factor in the development equation,'' Sheikh Maktoum said while presiding on Sunday over the newly established DMI board.

Sheikh Maktoum urged the DMI to attract Emirati young media persons, provide them with appropriate training to build their capacities and develop their talents so as to advance the media sector in Dubai.

Sheikh Maktoum heard reports on strategies and initiatives aimed at developing the print and audio-visual media so as to maintain Dubai's media leadership in consistence with the emirate's vision of excellence and in recognition of the role the media plays as an influential factor in community-building in the open space era.
