Mohamed bin Zayed meets Tunisian PM
General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today received at Emirates Palace, Tunisian Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa and his accompanying delegation.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi welcomed the Tunisian Prime Minister, hoping that the visit would contribute to bolstering fraternal relations between the two countries.
The two sides discussed the existing cooperation ties and ways to enhance them in all sectors in the best interest of the two peoples and countries.
Jomaa briefed Sheikh Mohamed on the latest Tunisian developments, government's priorities and its efforts to restore the security, stability and develop national economy.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Mehdi Jomaa discussed the latest developments in the Arab, regional and international arenas.
They exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest. The two sides also stressed the importance of stability and investment in education, being the main factors for development.
They discussed Tunisia's historic and successful experience of investment in education and human resources training, and their positive impact on Tunisia's stature in the region.
Sheikh Mohamed underlined the importance of investment in education, benefiting from the pioneer experiences, being factors of success in any society.
"This is our conviction in the UAE and we are going steadily trusting our Emirati human resources and their ability to make the development process successful," he added
Sheikh Mohamed wished stability and security to the Tunisian people to achieve their aspirations in the development and growth, stressing the
UAE's keenness on continuing consultations and communication with Tunisia, developing fraternal relations, reinforcement of cooperation mechanisms as well as strengthening opportunities of economic, investment and trade aspects.
On his part, Mehdi Jomaa hailed the existing fraternal relations between the UAE and Tunisia, which are based on mutual respect and cooperation, expressing his country's keenness on enhancing the bilateral cooperation ties.
He also hoped the bilateral ties would witness further growth in the coming period.
The Tunisian Prime minister expressed his happiness to visit the UAE, praising the comprehensive development being experienced by the UAE.
The meeting was attended from the UAE side by Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation, Dr Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority and Salem Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Tunisia.
Tunisian Foreign Minister Mongi Hamdi, Minister of Economic and Finance Hakim Ben Hammouda, diplomatic advisor, Hatem Atallah and Tunisian Ambassador to the UAE Tareq Baltayeb also attended the meeting.
Abu Dhabi Executive Council
Upon the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, new members of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council took oath here today before General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces at Al Mushrif Palace.
The sworn in ceremony was attended by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Executive Council Member, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Department of Transport, Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Authority Affairs, Hamad Mohammed Al Hurr Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Department of Finance and Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Energy Authority and Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of Health Authority.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi stressed keenness of the UAE President on updating and developing integrated government services to boost the competitiveness of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi so as to meet the needs of the country, citizens and preserve the national identity.
He added that huge responsibility is awaiting the members of executive council to further push sustainable development and keep pace with innovative and effective initiatives to upgrade the government performance. He noted that there are mechanisms to gauge government work in the executive council in order to improve the performance and work efficiency.
Sheikh Mohamed wished them success in their new duties and thanked the former executive council members for their efforts during their tenure in office.
For their part, the new members pledged to the UAE President to work harder with loyalty and self denial to implement his directives in service of the dear homeland and Emirati people.
