Mohammed bin Rashid attends media event

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended a Ramadan event organised by the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) at Sheikh Saeed Hall in the Dubai World Trade Centre on Sunday evening.

Also present at the event were heads of government departments and local and foreign media professionals.

On arrival Sheikh Mohammed was received by Director General of the GDMO Ahmed Abdullah Al Shaikh, GDMO personnel and leading figures in the local media.

During his tour of the event, Sheikh Mohammed spoke with a number of journalists and officials about media and economic-related issues. Sheikh Mohammed expressed his satisfaction with such events and praised the initiative launched by the GDMO, which has worked since its inception to enhance dialogue between the media and government officials and decision makers.

Sheikh Mohammed underlined the high standing of local media and praised the competence of young Emirati leaders operating in this field, saying that it reflects the economic and cultural progress in the UAE.

Sheikh Mohammed directed that Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) headed by its Director General, Ahmed Abdullah Al Shaikh, must intensify its programmes and training courses, designed to develop young citizens and prepare them to succeed in the media environment.

The event was attended by Director of Dubai Ruler's Court Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shebani, Commander General of Dubai Police Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality Khalifa Saeed Suleiman and a number of senior national media officials.
