Mohammed bin Zayed receives Saudi FM

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sunday received Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal, who arrived in the UAE on a short visit.

During the meeting attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed and Prince Saud discussed the regional issues and a number of issues of mutual interest in the light of distinguished historic relations and continuous coordination between the two countries.

The Saudi and the UAE foreign ministers said in a statement that "In line with the firm position of the two sisterly states on supporting the rights of Syrian people to defend themselves from the crimes of the Syrian regime, we welcome the decision of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces to participate at the Geneva 2 Conference."

They added that "The aim of the conference is to put an end to the suffering of Syrian people through effecting a genuine political transition in which Al Assad regime would have no role in implementation of the Geneva 1 Declaration, and the call of UN Secretary General in which he reiterated the position of the countries backing the Syrian people as outlined by the London Declaration 2013 and Paris Declaration in 2014."

Mohammed bin Zayed receives Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn

General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sunday received at Mushrif Palace, the visiting Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi welcomed Desalegn and discussed with him friendship and cooperation ties between the two friendly countries, and issues of mutual interest as well.

The meeting also tackled the importance of bolstering bilateral relations, especially in the economic and investment domains.

Sheikh Mohamed said that the UAE, led by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, "is looking forward to building stronger ties with the friendly countries and peoples based on joint cooperation and mutual respect."

On his part, the Ethiopian Prime Minister expressed his happiness to visit the UAE and meet the Emirati officials and exchange views with them on a number of issues of mutual interest to enhance cooperation and investment opportunities, as well as benefiting from the mutual expertise and capabilities.

The two side exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, in addition to a number of issues of mutual interest.

Sheikh Mohammed hosted a dinner banquet in the honour of the Ethiopian Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation.
