His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was today briefed on projects of the Ministry of Works carried out in various regions of the emirates. The total cost of the projects is estimated at Dh4 billion.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, was present on the occasion.
The briefing came during the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed to the headquarters of the Ministry in Dubai, where he approved new projects for the Ministry estimated at Dh2 billion. He then launched the implementation of the first phase of building of Al Amal Hospital in the Al Ruwayyah of Dubai, at a total expected cost of nearly Dh600 million.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works, and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai, along with a number of senior officials of the Ministry.
Sheikh Mohammed approved the future plan for the Ministry for 2014- 2016, with a package of new infrastructure projects, the implementation of which is estimated to cost Dh2 billion.
These projects include various Federal service buildings and the development of road infrastructure in order to achieve links between all cities and regions of the UAE with a greater capacity and enhanced safety for citizens and other users of these roads.
Sheikh Mohammed unveiled the plaque of the foundation stone for the hospital, which extends over an area of 54,000 square metres. It will have a capacity of 272 beds and is to be completed in a period not exceeding 24 months from today.
Sheikh Mohammed praised these high-end service projects carried out by the Ministry of Public Works, calling on the Minister and his assistants as well as all employees to exert their efforts on behalf of the homeland and in the service of the citizens, so that they can rely on the construction and development of the cultural and economic spheres and on that of the human being made in our dear country.
Sheikh Mohammed commended the efforts and achievements of the employees of the Ministry and their important role in the process of construction and development in the field of providing and building service projects that serve the citizens.
He urged them to redouble their efforts to keep up with the ambitions of the leadership, in particular that of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to provide the best services for citizens and residents and to secure a dignified life for all the sons and daughters of the country.
Sheikh Mohammed said that "Our ambitions are great, especially with the passage of 41 years of life of our state. Now you are taking up your march to bring our state to the first ranks of developed nations in the field of public services. You meet the challenges, which are many and great, and I'll be with you in the field because I learned in the field not in offices. I love the field work to monitor and follow- up on all what is happening on the ground in a very practical way".
Sheikh Mohammed said that "I want you to be happy and proud of what you have done and have achieved as well as of our state's great achievements on another level. I came to this place to thank you and I want you to maintain positive energy to keep you ready to work and optimistic".
