In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has issued Decree No.21 of 2010 establishing the Eisa Saleh Al Gurg Charitable Foundation as a private entity.
As per the decree the foundation will enjoy a fully legal and independent personality and have the capacity to act within the objectives and provisions of the decree and its founding documents.
The newly established foundation will be based in Dubai and may open branches inside and outside the emirate.
Part of the charity's mandate involves engaging in humanitarian and charitable activities for the public good, including backing efforts to set up residential projects to house orphans and the elderly. The foundation will also support the establishment of day care centres, educational institutions and medical centers, as well providing assistance to the poor and needy through funding programmes and scholarships.
The Eisa Saleh Al Gurg Charitable Foundation will commence operations with Dh5 million in share capital, paid entirely by the founder, as well as a range of real estate assets referred to in the founding document.
The decree is effective from its date of issuance and will be published in the official gazette.
