Mohammed arrives in Doha heading UAE delegation to Arab Summit

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai arrived in Doha on Monday evening, heading a UAE delegation to attend the two-day 24th Arab Summit, which starts today.

Sheikh Mohammed and the accompanying delegation were received at the Doha International Airport by Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, a number of sheikhs and top Qatari officials in addition to Qatar’s Ambassador to the UAE Abdullah Mohammed Al Othman.

The UAE Vice-President then inspected a guard of honour at the airport.

Welcoming Sheikh Mohammed, the Emir of Qatar accompanied Sheikh Mohammed to the royal reception hall at the airport and briefly discussed topics listed on the Arab Summit agenda.

Earlier, Sheikh Mohammed was seen off at the Dubai International Airport by Dubai Deputy Ruler and Minister of Finance Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Director of Dubai Ruler's Court Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shebani and officials from government departments and the military.

The UAE delegation to the 24th Arab Summit includes Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and UAE Representative to the League of Arab States Mohammed bin Nakheera Al Dhaheri, Director of Dubai Ruler's Office Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality Khalifa Saeed Suleiman and UAE Ambassador to Qatar Juma Rashid Saif Al Dhaheri. 

Receives President Michel Suleiman of Lebanon

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai received President Michel Suleiman of Lebanon at his residence in Doha on Monday evening.

Sheikh Mohammed and the Lebanese President discussed means of bolstering brotherly relations between Lebanon and the UAE in presence of UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The discussion also reviewed a number of issues and topics listed on the 24th Arab Summit, which will start tomorrow.

The meeting was attended by the UAE delegation accompanying Sheikh Mohammed to the summit, the Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour in addition to the official Lebanese delegation.
