Mohammed launches Dubai brand at Arabian Travel Market

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,  has launched Dubai’s new trade brand, which will be used in the global marketing and promotion of the emirate.

This came during Sheikh Mohammed’s visit to the 21st Arabian Travel Market, which kicked off  today at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) attracting  2,700 exhibitors from both government and private sectors‘ companies and entities specialising in travel, tourism and hospitality from the UAE and more than 80 countries around the world.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

Mohammed bin Rashid receives Ban Ki-moon

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received today UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at Zabeel Palace and exchanged with him views on a variety of regional and international issues as well as developmental and humanitarian matters.

The UN secretary general commended approaches and vision of the UAE leadership towards sustainable development and deployment of renewable energy, noting that these sound, landmark projects reflect the UAE leadership's far-sighted vision towards diversification of sources of national income, conservation of local environment and sincere efforts to provide development aid to a number of countries in area of renewable energy.

The UN chief also noted the humanitarian assistance and stances of the President, government, agencies and people towards peoples and countries struck by natural and man-made disasters or famine and other calamities.

Mr. Ban emphasised that the UAE has become among the leading countries globally in the delivery of valuable humanitarian assistance to needy peoples regardless of geography, race or religion.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director General of the Ruler of Dubai's Court, Khalifa Saeed Sulieman, Director General of Dubai Protocols and Hospitality Department, Lana Nusseibeh, Permanent Representative of the UAE to the UN, and a number of UN officials.

Mohammed attends UK’s 1000 Guineas

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has attended the 1000 Guineas, the Group 1 flat horse race, at Newmarket in Britain.

The race was also attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai,  Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid , Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Sheikh Juma bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum, Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum and numbers of senior officials, horse owners and horseracing fans.

UAE horses excelled and won two interesting races. Godolphin's 'Elite Gardens' won the 3rd race while Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid’s ‘Taghrooda’ made an impressive run to win the 6th race of the meeting.

Trained by André Fabre, the three-year old 'Miss France' took the 1,000 Guineas ahead of Mohamed Al Qubaisi’s' Lightning Thunder' and Godolphin’s' Ihtimal'.

Mohammed to attend UAE University graduation ceremony

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will attend the United Arab Emirates University's (UAE University) graduation ceremony of a new batch of students tomorrow at the university campus in Al Ain.

The ceremony will also be attended by a number of sheikhs, ministers and senior officials as well as parents of graduates.
