The Cabinet has endorsed setting up of the UAE National Institute for Medical Specialisations (UAE Medical Board) to develop and upgrade the health sector in the UAE.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has said the UAE government takes interest in all proposals from the fields or public.
He added that all the proposals adopted during the recent UAE brainstorming sessions have become part of the Cabinet agenda, adding that the government agencies started to implement all the proposals, following the Cabinet retreat. He cited that the proposal for developing the UAE Medical Board was suggested in the field and endorsed today by the Cabinet to upgrade medical cadres through continuous training in cooperation with the national and international educational institutions.
The remarks were made today during the Cabinet session held here today at the Presidential Palace. The session was attended by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
Mohammed attends Education Forum
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, this morning attended the second annual Global Education and Skills Forum, GESF, at Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai.
The session was attended by Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid AI Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President, Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai.
It was also attended by the Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher Education, Elias Bou Saab, and Irina Bokova, Director-General, UNESCO, in addition to more than 800 participants including previous heads of governments, ministers of education and academics from around the world.
Former US President and founder of the Clinton Foundation, Bill Clinton, delivered a speech where he commended His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's vision for the future of education in the country, highlighting His Highness' initiative to transform education to smart learning and focusing on the techniques and methods of education to be developed as world-class levels.
Mr. Clinton also hailed the initiative of the Varkey GEMS Foundation for organising the Forum for the second time to highlight the problems of education in the whole world, especially low-income countries.
He also hailed Dubai Cares' donations and thanked them for their contributions in promoting education in many countries in an effort to provide education to more than a million children in the first phase.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, during a meeting on the sidelines of the forum, welcomed the former US President, and also hailed the initiative of the Varkey GEMS Foundation which contributes to the provision of educational opportunities for disadvantaged children around the world, noting the generous donation by the founder and president of the Foundation, Sunny Varkey, to Dubai Cares and his support for the educational projects and programmes in the concerned countries.
Four new Ambassadors sworn in before Mohammed bin Rashid
Four new ambassadors were sworn in today before the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to take over their new positions in a number of brotherly and friendly countries and international organisations.
Eisa Abdullah Masoud Al Kalabani, UAE Ambassador to Mauritania, Mohammed Ahmed Osman Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to Somalia, Mohammed Rashid Al Rashidi, U.A.E. Ambassador to Senegal and Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) based in Abu Dhabi, all pledged loyalty to the UAE and its leadership and constitution.
The Vice President urged the four envoys to better represent their country and people, as well as pledge loyalty to the leadership that bestowed on them confidence to serve the interests of the UAE at all political, economic, cultural, tourism, social and others. He wished them success in discharging their duties abroad and reflecting the authentic norms and traditions of the UAE.
