Mohammed receives Fijian Prime Minister

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday welcomed on Sunday received the visiting Fijian Prime Minister Commodore Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama and his accompanying delegation today at Zabeel Palace.

In presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohammed discussed with his Fijian counterpart boosting bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of investment, tourism and air transport.

Earlier, Bainimarama inaugurated the Fijian Embassy in Abu Dhabi marking the first Fijian diplomatic presence in the GCC.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted UAE's keenness on establishing cooperation ties with different world countries and the benefits of this approach on the peoples of the UAE and world countries.

Also present at the meeting were Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Minister of State Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, a number of officials in addition to the Fijian Ambassador to the UAE Ravindran Robin Nair.

Mohammed receives Arabic Language Charter team

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received the chairman and members of the Arabic Language Charter Development Committee at Emirates Towers in Dubai on Sunday.

Last year, Sheikh Mohammed had ordered the formation of an international committee of experts to promote Arabic as the language of science and technology.

During the meeting attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, an. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed discussed with the panel’s head Dr Farouk Al Baz, the committee's action plan which targets reforms in teaching and learning the Arabic language in schools and universities.

Sheikh Mohammed urged the committee members to put their knowledge and expertise to identifying innovative solutions to realise the objectives of his initiative of reviving the Arabic language.

Also present were Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, Director of Dubai Protocol Department Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General Office of the Prime Minister Ohood Roumi and senior officials.
