The decree includes the perquisites for the salary, granted by His Highness two years ago, to enable a larger part of the fishermen community to benefit from privilege. The decree lowers the years required for membership in Dubai Fishermen Cooperative Association, from 15 to 10. The decree also states that this salary will be directly granted to active Emirati fishermen.

It also guarantees the salary for fishermen who have been in the profession for over 20 years, or have passed 60 years of age, or in case of injury, accident or a disability that would hinder his work even if he's been a member in the cooperative for less than 10 years.

The decree is expected to leave positive impact on the fishermen community, encouraging its individuals to continue practicing this profession as a traditional and historical heritage that must be preserved.
