Mohammed receives Libyan delegation

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received the visiting Libyan delegation headed by Speaker of House of Representatives Ageela Saleh, the Libyan Prime Minister Abdullah Al Thinni and a number of senior Libyan officials.

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the meeting which highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral relations to serve the joint interests of the two countries and peoples.

The meeting also tackled means of boosting coordination and cooperation between the UAE and Libya in a number of areas.

The Libyan delegation briefed Sheikh Mohammed on the latest political and security developments in Libya, and the efforts exerted by the government to restore security and stability.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed confidence that the Libyan people are capable of weathering the current critical stage to restore security, stability and territorial unity. His Highness stressed the support of UAE for all efforts aimed at backing the Libyan people to achieve peace, stability and prosperity.

Moreover, Sheikh Mohammed reiterated support for Libya and its legitimate national institutions that include the elected House of Representatives. His Highness said that the UAE looks forward to a unified Libya that occupies its natural position in the Arab world.

Attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality Khalifa Saeed Suleiman and Libyan Ambassador to the UAE Aref Ali Nayed.

Mohammed visits Emirates Competitiveness Council

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that enhancing the competitiveness of the UAE is a national priority that is being implemented as part of a comprehensive vision set forth by the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Mohammed’s remark came during a special visit to the Emirates Competitiveness Council headquarters at Emirates Towers accompanied by Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi and the Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality Khalifa Saeed Suleiman.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on future plans adopted by the council to increase the competitiveness of the UAE and its ranking on the most important global indexes in this regard. Council team members highlighted some of the upcoming initiatives presented by federal and local government entities to further boost the competitiveness of the country. 

Sheikh Mohammed thanked the council team members for their efforts in following up with global institutions in this matter. His Highness also highlighted the importance of reviewing global reports that gauge development with aims to modify plans and projects adopted by the government to enhance the quality of life for society.
