Mohammed visits Arab Health Exhibition

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today visited the 39th Arab Health Exhibition & Congress at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, which concludes tomorrow.

Also present was Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

During his inspection tour of the four-day exhibition, His Highness was accompanied by Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health, Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dr. Maha Barakat, Director-General of the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi, and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the latest exhibits, which include medical laboratories and operating theatres, and therapeutic and medical equipment used in the processing of hospitals and health clinics of various kinds.

He described Health Exhibition & Congress as an excellent scientific medical demonstration, considering the scientific level of both participants and visitors, saying that the exhibition was a platform to exchange views, ideas, experiences and scientific studies that contribute to the development of health care.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed exhibitors, physicians and scientists who have come from every corner of the world, stressing that the UAE will always remain an oasis of cultural harmony and human generosity.

Mohammed bin Rashid attends signing of unification of licenses for medical practitioners agreement

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today attended the signing of an agreement for the unification of licenses for medical practitioners in the country, on the sidelines of his visit to the Arab Health Exhibition & Congress at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Also present was Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

His Highness commended the signing of the agreement, calling it, "A new step on the right path in order to unify the regulations, laws and procedures governing this noble human profession."

The agreement was signed by Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health on the Ministry's side and Essa Al Maidoor, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and Dr. Maha Barakat, Director-General of the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi on the Authority's side.

Mohammed bin Rashid attends graduation of Zayed II Military College

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today attended the graduation ceremony of the 38th batch of cadet officers at the Zayed II Military College in Al Ain.

Following the national anthem, Sheikh Mohammed inspected the graduates. Graduating cadet officers then took their oaths before Sheikh Mohammed.

The ceremony, which was held at the college headquarters, was attended by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Hazza bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Under-Secretary of the Court of the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid AI Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shafaar, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality and a number of officials, senior armed forces and police officers, members of the diplomatic corps, military attaches at foreign diplomatic missions and relatives of the graduates.

Mohammed bin Rashid receives letter from Algerian President

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today received a letter from President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, sending greetings to His Highness wishing more progress and prosperity for the UAE.

The message also included a number of issues relating to the promotion of fraternal relations and cooperation between the UAE and Algeria at various levels.

Sheikh Mohammed received the message during a meeting this morning at the headquarters of Zayed II Military College in Al Ain with Lieutenant-General Ahmed Gaid Salah, Algerian Deputy Minister for National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People's National Army.

During the meeting, the two parties reviewed military cooperation between the two countries, especially in terms of the exchange of experience and training in the field of defence.

The meeting was attended by Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Hazza bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Under-Secretary of the Court of the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid AI Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President, Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality and a number of officials.

Hamid Shabira, Algeria's Ambassador to the UAE, a number of senior officers and a military delegation accompanied the guest.
