The Cabinet session chaired by Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, opened its session today held at the Presidential Palace, with a minute silence for 52 Emirati martyrs who fell while taking part in the Arab Coalition's Operation Restoring Hope, led by Saudi Arabia.

The Cabinet issued a statement in which it offered condolences to the people of UAE on the nation's martyrs.

It also offered sincere condolences to The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, on Muslims killed when the crane collapsed due to strong storms that lashed Makkah on Friday.

The Cabinet prayed to the Almighty Allah to rest their souls in eternal peace and bestow patience and solace on their families and relatives.

Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs were present in the meeting.

During the Cabinet meeting, Sheikh Mohammed launched the Platform for Government Policies, which is the first site and electronic application dedicated to decision-makers and stakeholders in the field of government policies to exchange experiences and knowledge, as well as training and interaction on matters related to the government issues.

The UAE Cabinet on Sunday launched a platform for government policies dedicated to decision and policy makers involved in drawing up and implementing federal government’s policies.

Addressing the Cabinet, Sheikh Mohammad said the upgrading of public employees' skills "is a priority of the government because it is the cornerstone for success of the government excellence process."

He added, "By launching the government policy platform, we strive to empower our employees with all mechanisms and tools that help stimulate their efforts, develop their skills and qualify them. Our employees are the makers of our success, and are the strategic partners in moving the engine of development and progress forward."

The Cabinet approved a draft programme on preventive measures to be taken to ensure public health and combat epidemic diseases. It also approved a number of recommendations by the Federal National Council with regard to the Ministry of Labour’s policy on regulating and streamlining the job market.

It also approved the establishment of a strategic medical stock in the country so as to be well prepared and ready to respond swiftly in emergencies. The Cabinet endorsed a number of treaties and agreements signed between the UAE and other countries.

Cabinet pays tribute to nation's martyrs

The Cabinet has extended sincere condolences of the government and the people of the UAE on the martyrdom of the nation's 52 martyrs who fell while taking part in the Arab Coalition's Operation Restoring Hope, led by Saudi Arabia.

The Cabinet issued the following statement in which it offered the condolences to the people of the UAE on the heroic sacrifice made by the nation's martyrs:

"We offer condolences to ourselves, both the Government and the people of the UAE, on the martyrdom of 52 of our brave soldiers who have ascended to Paradise to write the new history of the UAE. We pray to the Almighty Allah to grant their souls rest in eternal peace, and bestow patience and solace on their families and the people of the UAE.

"The Cabinet also congratulates the people of the UAE for demonstrating the new spirit seen nationwide. It is the spirit of determination, victory, sacrifice, unity and cohesion with leaders. These days will remain firm in the memory of our present and future generations.

"The Cabinet also confirms that these historic moments of our nation are pivotal moments in our journey as feelings and hearts unite, and ideas change to embrace a new way of national action, based on our readiness to make the ultimate sacrifice for the UAE. Emiratis have proven beyond doubt that they would not spare any effort or hesitate for even one moment to sacrifice their lives for the homeland and in defence of the right, and align behind the leaders."

"The blood of the martyrs will not go in vain, and their sacrifices will always remain in the memory of the nation. Their martyrdom will give us more resolve and determination to continue along the path of truth to restore hope to Yemen.

"Yemen will remain a strategic depth of the GCC and the first line of defence against foreign intervention, as well as an essential component of the GCC joint security. Hence, the defence of Yemen and restoration of legitimacy and stability is part and parcel of protecting the security and gains of all the Arab Gulf states.

"The UAE is keen to back the sisterly states to restore security and stability to the Arab region, particularly Yemen. It will continue all efforts to achieve that through supporting the United Nations' efforts to bring peace and stability."
