Sheikh Mohammed's son Rashid dies of heart attack
The Dubai Ruler’s Court has announced death of Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who succumbed today to a heart attack.
The funeral prayer will be held this evening after Maghreb prayers at Zabeel Mosque, after which Sheikh Rashid will be laid to rest at Umm Hurair cemetery, located at Al Fahidi area, in Bur Dubai.
The Dubai Ruler’s Court declared a 3-day mourning period in Dubai starting today, Saturday. UAE flags will be flown at half-mast during the mourning period.
Sheikh Rashid was the eldest son of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Work in government departments and institutions to continue as normal
Dubai Ruler’s Court has announced that work in government departments and institutions in the emirate of Dubai will continue as normal during the three-day mourning period.
