Special plane to fly injured Emiratis home

The President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the dispatch of a special airplane to fly home members of an Emirati family who sustained injuries following a car accident in Saudi Arabia.

The Central Operations Department at Abu Dhabi Police are currently coordinating with Khalifa Medical City, the UAE Consulate in Jeddah, and the Royal Jet to return the injured citizens to the UAE within the next 24 hours.

Emirati citizen Mohammed Atif, his wife, their daughter, 19, and their Indonesian maid suffered minor to serious injuries after the accident.

Three of the family members; the grandmother, 71, and two children, 16 and 13, were killed in the accident.
