The UAE, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is proud of its legacy, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces has said.
In a statement made on Wednesday to mark opening of the 4th Qasr al Hosn Festival in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE is working to preserve its historic legacy and identity to instill the values of giving, dedication and sacrifices in future generations.
"We will always be loyal to our forefathers' values. We are inspired by their glorious history to follow their path and to serve our country and our people," he added.
Sheikh Mohamed underlined UAE's rich heritage and pledged to continue the drive for progress and prosperity.
Mohamed receives First Vice-President of Afghanistan
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today received Abdul Rashid Dostum, the First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, at the Al-Shatea' Palace.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations in various fields and ways of enhancing and developing them to serve the interests of both countries and their peoples.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Abdul Rashid Dostum also reviewed the UAE's effort in the reconstruction of Afghanistan, and its effective contribution in developing a number of sectors to benefit the needs of the Afghani people.
The two sides also discussed co-ordination efforts between the two countries in many issues, especially with regard to addressing violence, extremism and terrorism, regional and international developments, and exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council.
