'Healthy meal with worms' served in Saudi hospital

A Saudi man stopped eating and cursed after noticing what he believed was a live worm in his dish. When he trained his eyes, his guess was confirmed.

The meal was not served at a restaurant nor was the man a customer. It was offered at a key hospital and the man was a patient.

An 85-second U-Tube film carried by a Saudi newspaper showed the patient had already eaten part of the meal when he discovered the worm. His relative took the dish and headed for the administration to complain.

Sabq newspaper said the film was shot by a friend of the patient at King Fahd Central Hospital in the southern province of Jazan.

“Look at the worms inside a meal served at a hospital, which is supposed to be an example in cleanliness and hygiene,” the relative said.
