Indian film director and producer, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, may have his eyes set to capture the century’s love story on his camera to be watched by millions around the world.

The filmmaker, who recently produced ‘Bajirao Mastani’, a historical romance film, could now focus on a real love story that happened in 1978 but grabbed everyone’s attention through social media just recently.

This is the love story of man called Dr. Pradyumna Kumar Mahanandia from India (fondly known as PK) and Charlotte Von Schedvin, a royal from Sweden, which went viral after it was shared on Facebook.

“I and my family members have met Mr. Bhansali and he showed interest in making a film,” confirmed Dr. Mahanandia in an interview with Emirates 24/7.

The interest in making a film on Dr. Mahanandia’s life is not just limited to Bollywood. “There are many from Hollywood, European film academy and Nordic film who have also shown their interest. But we have decided not to give film rights to any country and any party. We are thinking of a global collaboration to make this film. You will know more after the English book is published this year,” he added.

The Swedish government in honour of their love has already made films to document this immortal love of the century.

This love story, indeed, has all the trails, heartbreaks and a happy ending – that can make up a perfect romantic film.

Back in 1975, PK, a talented artist, was based in Delhi when a young 19-year old Charlotte travelled to India to get a portrait done by him.

That’s where the two met, fell in love, got married and then were separated as Charlotte returned to Sweden. She offered Pradyumna to go with her but he decided that someday he would go to Sweden but on his own.

After his ladylove left, PK spent time in India trying to earn and save so that he could make it to Sweden and finally undertook a very treacherous, long journey on a second-hand bicycle.

PK finally met Charlotte and they were married again in 1979. Today, they have a son Siddharth and a daughter Emelie. They currently live in Charlotte's home town Borås.

PK is not just lucky in love. He is also a well-known artist in Sweden and works as an advisor (art and culture) with the Swedish government.
