India’s Jet Airways issues security alert for 5 flights

Following the devastating attack on Brussels Airport and a following blast at its metro station, Indian carrier Jet Airways has now confirmed it has received a security alert involving five flights in New Delhi.

The airline took to its official Twitter account at 4pm UAE time [on Tuesday] to confirm this new threat, stating all its flights are on the ground and being checked by security agencies.

In a complete statement, the airline posted: “Jet Airways has received a security alert for five flights from Delhi.

“All flights are on ground and are being checked by security agencies at the respective airports.”

The airline further stated that it regretted the inconvenience caused to its guests.

Meanwhile, the Indian carrier has also confirmed that two if its staff members were injured in wake of the two explosions at Brussels Airport earlier on Tuesday, which resulted in 11 casualties and scores of people injured; while a third explosion at a metro station in Brussels claimed the lives of 15 people.

The airline has confirmed their injured staff members were receiving medical care, even as Brussels Airport has shut down and cancelled all flights.
