The Command of the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen had denied claims by an Iranian foreign ministry spokesman that the coalition's planes had targeted the Iranian Embassy in the Yemeni city of Sana'a.

In a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency, SPA, the coalition command stressed that "these allegations are false and void. It confirmed that the building of the Iranian embassy in Sana'a is safe and was not damaged.

"The Coalition Command does not carry out any operations in the vicinity of the (Iranian) embassy or near to it," the statement added.

The Command urged all diplomatic missions in Sana'a not to give any opportunity to rebel militias to use their diplomatic buildings for any military actions, deemed as violation of international norms and conventions.

Yemeni FM denies Iran's claims its embassy in Sana'a was hit

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry has dismissed Iran's claims that its embassy in Sana'a City was hit and stressed that rebels who control the city are responsible for any damages to diplomatic missions in it.

An official source at the Ministry told the state Yemen News Agency that the internationally-recognised Yemeni government had severed its diplomatic ties with Iran on October 2, 2015.

The source held the rebel Houthi militia and forces loyal to now-ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh responsible for targeting the buildings of all diplomatic missions and international organisations.

The source warned the rebels against using the buildings of any diplomatic missions in the city for any military actions, deemed as violation of international norms and conventions.
