Killer caught in UAE after boasting of murder to friends

A construction worker who murdered a supervising architect at the site made the mistake of his life when he divulged the crime to his friends.

This was after the case was closed and considered an accident by the police.

The worker was having a conversation with friends months after he committed the murder and told them they should do what he did if their foreman continues to harass them.

At first they thought he was joking, before he revealed details of the murder. He told them that the architect was standing on top of the building under construction and that he decided to get rid of him after he was rebuked by his boss.

“He told them how he went behind the architect and pushed him down. Friends were still sceptical about his claims and thought he was just boasting.

“But he confirmed again that he killed his boss and revealed the crime details,” the Arabic language daily ‘Al Bayan’ said, quoting court records at the Ministry of Interior.

“In the morning, his friends consulted with each other and decided that they must not remain silent. They decided to inform the police, who arrested the man on that day.”

The report said the unnamed killer was convicted by an Abu Dhabi criminal court and sentenced to death.
