An Ethiopian housemaid tried to commit a suicide by tying her neck to the bathroom shower in a Saudi psychiatry hospital but she was saved by nurses.

The maid, who was in hospital because of illness, got a piece of cloth and tied it round her neck then hanged by the shower before jumping down.

Nurses who were checking other patients heard the bang and rushed to the bathroom where they found the maid hanging.

“They saved her at the last moment.

“Doctors decided to keep her at the intensive care unit while police opened an investigation into the case,” ‘Sabq’ newspaper said in a report from the Western Saudi town of Taif .
