Make a wish: It’s 11/1/11 and it’s a special day today

This one’s for the number geeks. It’s 11/1/11 today, and an auspicious date, according to numerologists.

“Numero Uno symbolises success. Primarily, the Number One deals with strong will, positivity abd pure energy,” says a Delhi-based numbers expert.

“It reflects new beginnings, and purity. The symbolic meaning of Number One is further clarified when we understand One represents both kinds of action: physical and mental,” he adds.

“And when you have a number of ones in a row, it symbolises even greater success,” he says, adding that it’s the sort of date that can make dreams come true.

“Make a wish today, and make sure it’s a noble one – the higher cosmos is aligning itself to ensure that it comes true,” he says. “One encourages us our action will be rewarded in kind.”

There are those who believe that invisible forces from afar have impact on our daily lives.

“When you experience numbers based on ‘1’, you must understand that playful Angels may be trying to capture you attention. Reward your ‘playful Angel’ with a knowing smile,” says Sam Jones, a renowned numerologist.

“The most desperate people you know may need a job. If you know where they can get one, then tell them,” he says.

“If you know where the jobless can get free or inexpensive job training be sure to share that with them.  If you know of a career where they will literally take warm bodies off the street and give them honest work, tell anyone who might be in difficulty over financial or job situations to look into it.  The 1 phenomenon is considered very auspicious,” he says.

It’s a year of auspicious dates, then, it would seem. We’ve already seen 1/1/11 (New Year’s Day), and today’s 11/1/11. There will be two more such dates this year itself: 1/11/11 (November 1 this year) and the big one 11/11/11 (November 11, 2011).

“On 11 November 2011 at 11:11 for 49 minutes, the 9th Gate of the 11th heaven is due to open and beings from a higher plane of existence may appear.  Be ready to receive wisdom and joy,” says Jones.

Then there are those that want to believe. Paul, a German living in Dubai, has this to say:

Perhaps. But for many others, it’s just another day. “In fact, today is special for no greater reason than it is special to watch the odometer on your car when it reaches 33333 (or whatever number takes your fancy),” Tweeted an online denizen.

“Ones are the loneliest numbers. 11/1/11 11:11,” said a Tweet by a user called AshSimmonds.

“Why make one wish today,” asked another. “If you’re so sure they’ll come true, make 11.” Point.
