Man kills wife after causing parents' death

A mentally-ill Saudi man killed his wife by strangling her just a week after he was blamed for the death of his parents in a road crash.

The wife has just gone to bed at night when her husband followed her, surrounded her neck with his hands and strangled her.

“He then phoned his relatives and told them he killed his wife. His relatives phoned the police who rushed to the house and arrested him,” Sabq daily said.

It said the man murdered his wife at their house in the central town of Afif nearly a week after he caused the death of his parents in a road crash.

“The man was sitting in the back seat of the car which was driven by his father who was taking him to a psychiatrist.
“The man suddenly jumped on his father, causing his to lose control of the car which veered off the road and overturned, killing the father and his wife. The son was slightly injured.”
