Colombo: A resident of Gokarella, Ranavriugama died after plunging to the ground while attempting to end his life on a rope.
According to a report in Lanka Mirror, Gamini Rupasinghe, 31, a resident of Rathmalgama, decided to take his life following a dispute with his wife.
He hanged himself, but the rope broke and he fell to the ground and died in its impact.
Gokarella Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.

Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage ordered G M Dinesh Harsha Gankanda, parliamentarian from Ratnapura district, to appear before court on August 8 for allegedly assaulting a businessman and biting his nose.
Vaikundan Nada Thyamakaran , a businessman and resident of Galle Road, Colombo 03, fild a complaint against the politician at the Kollupitiya police station.
He alleged that he had received medical help following the assault.
