A Kuwaiti court sentenced a national man to death and his wife to 10 years in prison for murdering an Asian expatriate after robbing him, a newspaper in the oil-rich Gulf nation reported on Thursday.
The unnamed man and his wife had targeted Asian expatriates in Kuwait City in their burglary operations by disguising as a police man, Alanba said.
His latest victim was an Asian man who had used his room to offer international telecommunications services to other expatriates, the paper said.
“His wife came and knocked at his door while her husband, who was dressed as a police man, hid behind the door…when the Asian opened the door, her husband jumped on him and hit him on the head,” it said without identifying the Asian.
“They robbed him and stole telephones from his room…they then took him by their car and phoned his friend to tell him he must pay a ransom…but his friend told the police, who later the arrest the man and his wife…he confessed to killing the Asian and burying him in a deserted area.”
