Boxing fans will get a chance to meet Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao in Dubai next month at the Mall of the Emirates where he will inaugurate a new GO Sport megastore.

The store will be visited by the boxing superstar on November 5 when he arrives in Dubai for the Philippines Basketball Cup 2016 to be held at Al Wasl Club that weekend.

Fans are being urged to keep a close eye on GO Sport social media pages for information on the chance to meet the eight-division world champion.

Pacquiao will be the star attraction at the PBC 2016 where he will lead Mahindra Enforcers as player-coach in the event organised by the Clique Events CO, the Official Overseas Game Organiser of PBA in UAE, in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, and dU as the main presenter.

Mahindra Enforcers, Alaska Aces and Barangay Ginebra, which are considered three of the best basketball teams in the Philippine league, will be competing for honours.

The tournament is expected to attract a large number of Filipino basketball lovers and fans of the participating teams, as well as fans 'Pacman' who featured in the 'Fight of the Century' with American Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacquiao, 36, has enjoyed a glittering 20-year career in the ring, defeating the likes of Ricky Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya on his way to being crowned ‘Fighter of the Decade’ by the Boxing Writers Association of America, the World Boxing Council, and the World Boxing Organisation in 2011.

Since then, Pacquiao has participated in basketball, business, acting, music, and politics. Earlier this month he made the headlines when he announced he would run for a seat in the Senate in his native Philippines.

Meanwhile, the professional boxer’s appearance at the GO Sport opening follows confirmation that the new store, which is located on the new third floor at Mall of the Emirates, is the brand’s largest in the world.
