Mohammed in talks with Mexico President
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, held talks with Mexican President, Enrique Pena Nieto, at the Presidential Palace in Mexico City on Monday.
The leaders discussed international, political and economic issues and ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries through strategic and constructive partnership in all economic and investment sectors, which are based on the joint interest of the two friendly peoples.
Sheikh Mohammed was accorded an official reception in the palace yard, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, and the accompanying delegation.
Later they inspected the guard of honour on the occasion of the historic visit of Sheikh Mohammed.
Attends signing ceremony
At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed dedicated the Mexican President a copy of his book ‘ Flashes of Thought’ in Spanish, which is the official language of Mexico. He thanked Sheikh Mohammed and promised to read it.
Sheikh Mohammed signed a photo of him with the Mexican President before leaving the Palace.
Sheikh Mohammed tours Teotihuacan City
Sheikh Mohammed also visited Teotihuacan City on Monday.
It is unknown who built Teotihuacan City or even who ordered it to be built. The city dates back to 100 years BC.
Sheikh Mohammed and his accompanying delegation toured the city located 35 km away from the Mexican capital, ‘Mexico City’.
Sheikh Mohammed was informed on components of the historic city, which includes wonders of the world, which reflects mankind's capability to invent and achieve the impossible since the city was built in a very precise way and includes residential complexes with wonderful designs. He expressed his admiration of the ancient city.
Sheikh Mohammed lays wreath at the Chapultepec memorial
Sheikh Mohammed laid a wreath at the Chapultepec memorial in Mexico for Mexican Military Academy, who died at the Chapultepec battle in 1847 between the American and Mexican armies.
The war left hundreds of deaths and causalities among Mexicans.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, also attended the event.
Upon arrival at the place, Sheikh Mohammed and his accompanying delegation were accorded official welcoming. At the end, the Vice-President was seen off warmly.
