Mohammed to perform Eid prayer at Zabeel Mosque

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will perform the Eid Al Adha prayer at the Zabeel Mosque tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

Sheikhs and worshippers will join the prayer alongside His Highness.

Following the prayer, Sheikh Mohammed will receive well-wishers at the Zabeel Palace.

490 prisoners pardoned

In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has ordered the release of 490 prisoners of various nationalities from Dubai punitive and corrective institutions on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

Dubai Attorney General, Essam Al Humaidan, said that such a humanitarian gesture reflects Sheikh Mohammed’s keenness to give the prisoners the opportunity to follow the right path and start a new life.

Al Humaidan affirmed that Sheikh Mohammed's orders will be carried out immediately, adding that the Public Prosecution has started coordination with Dubai Police to implement the orders and ensure the prisoners can reunite with their families before the start of Eid Al Adha. He went on to say that the pardon will have a positive impact on the families of the pardoned prisoners who will have the opportunity to reintegrate into society, as the Dubai leadership is keen to provide all that is required to strengthen the social fabric of the emirate.

RAK Ruler pardons 238 prisoners

Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has ordered the release of 238 prisoners of various nationalities from Dubai punitive and corrective institutions on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

Sheikh Saud also pledged to bear the financial obligations as result of enforcement of these sentences.

Sheikh Saud’s gesture aims to give freed prisoners another chance to start a new life and ease the suffering of their families as well.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, and Chairman of the Judicial Council in the Emirate, has instructed the competent authorities to co-ordinate with the Emirate's Police to implement the Ruler's pardon before the Eid.

Counsellor Hassan Saeed Muhammed, Public Prosecutor of the RAK, said the kind gesture of the Ruler would grant the released prisoners an opportunity to be re-integrated into the community and bring happiness and joy to their families.

Ruler of Fujairah orders release of prisoners on occasion of Eid Al Adha

His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, has ordered the release of 40 prisoners of different nationalities who have shown good conduct while serving their jail terms in the punitive and correctional establishments in Fujairah.

This initiative reflects the keenness of the Ruler of Fujairah to give the released prisoners an opportunity to start a new life, and bring joy to their families.

Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanim Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, appreciated the gesture of Sheikh Hamad, and hoped that this clemency would be a motivation for those released to begin a new and righteous life.

Umm Al Quwain Ruler orders release of prisoners

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, today ordered the release of a number of prisoners from punitive and reformative institutions in the emirate on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

The pardon includes inmates sentenced to prison and those facing fines for varying penalties which have proven their good conduct. Prisoners who have been sentenced to deportation will be sent back to their home countries.

The move is part of the Umm Al Quwain Ruler’s keenness to give prisoners a chance to begin a new life and ease the suffering of their families.
