It’s the Monday morning blues, coupled with the sign that weary summer travellers have finally returned to Dubai, as traffic conditions reach stressful conditions for the city’s morning commuters.
Three accidents have been reported from various corners of Dubai, with Sheikh Zayed Road also clocking in heavy traffic conditions, despite a fender bender or rubberneckers adding to the morning chaos.
Dubai Police confirmed an accident on the former Emirates Road, tweeting: “Clogged traffic; accident on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road from Rashidiya direction bridge to the Mirdif City Centre bridge. Please take caution.”
Meanwhile, driving down Al Khail Road, towards Abu Dhabi, will also be facing some morning traffic, as a van appears to have been involved in an accident near Exit 17, with the impact turning the vehicle to face oncoming traffic, as per eye witness accounts.
If that wasn’t enough to perk up the morning, Business Bay bridge, heading into Dubai is also reportedly the scene of yet another traffic accident.
Several commuters have taken to Twitter, with Lim R tweeted: “Well, one thing is for certain. Summer is well and truly over with the daily Dubai traffic is any indication these days. Wait till the schools begin.”
