Morning traffic to Abu Dhabi hit by accidents

Morning commuters to the capital may have a long drive ahead as two accidents have been reported post the Jebel Ali marker, with tailbacks already stretching towards Ibn Battuta Mall.

An eyewitness on the scene spoke to Emirates 24|7 saying: “The accident is a few miles after the mall, heading towards Abu Dhabi, involving two SUVs. One looked like a black, flatbed Subaru, the other was a steel grey vehicle.

“The accident is definitely more than a fender bender and authorities had yet to arrive on the scene when I drove past it around 8am.”

Another accident has also been reported near the Ghantoot junction, but details of this have yet to emerge.
