Pervez Musharraf could leave for UAE or Saudi Arabia as a secret deal has been finalised between the former president and incoming prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistani media has reported today.

The PakTribune quoted Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain as claiming the above while talking to media outside Parliament House on Monday.

Earlier reports claimed that former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf was expected to arrive in Dubai to visit his ailing mother.

Musharraf’s mother has developed serious health problems and is in a hospital in Dubai, reported thenews.com.

The website quoted sources as saying that a bail application would be adjudicated today.

However, it may be noted that Musharraf is on the exit control list (ECL) by the director general immigration and passport.

He is currently under detention at his house after the Supreme Court directed authorities to ensure he doesn’t leave the country.
