Dubai’s master developer Nakheel Properties yesterday launched 84 new townhouses and a 608,000 sq ft waterfront recreational area in posh its Jumeirah Islands development.

The four-bedroom townhouses at Jumeirah Islands each cover 3,630 sqft and come with a double garage, maid’s room, study and private garden.

In a media statement, Nakheel revealed that 40 per cent of the townhouses have already been sold, with a combined sales value of Dh140 million.

Prices of the still-available townhouses range between Dh3.95m and Dh4.86m, Nakheel said, depending on plot size, location and view. The gated community, set in lush gardens and greenery, includes a large swimming pool.

In addition, the master developer announced that it is creating a new concept in living and leisure at Jumeirah Islands, with the launch today of a 608,000 sq ft waterfront recreational area.

Called the Jumeirah Islands Park, it will provide a new leisure, dining and shopping hub for Jumeirah Islands and surrounding areas.

The project comprises extensive communal parkland and a community centre featuring 10 retail outlets including a supermarket, four food and beverage outlets, a fitness centre, sports courts, jogging track and ample parking.

As with all Nakheel parks, the new facility will feature trees and plants indigenous to the UAE. Construction of the park, recreation centre and townhouses will begin in fourth quarter of 2013, with a two-year timeline, the property company said.
