No damage, none hurt; Some buildings evacuated

Those in high rises reported on experiencing the ground shake.

Asha Mehra who works in the BurJuman office tower said: “I was working in my office on the 10th floor when I suddenly felt a head spin. I turned to look at my colleague in confusion and we both realised at the same time that it was a tremor we were experiencing.

“Within a few seconds someone in office yelled to evacuate the building and we all ran down the stairs in panic. I’m glad no one is hurt.”

Waseem Suhaf tweeted: “Felt tremors of earthquake on 36th floor — at Dubai Media City.”

Tariq Ellahi said: “Just felt my room move on the 23rd floor!”

Talha Shah said: “Earthquake in Dubai; I rushed down from 12th floor but safe.”

Kuldeep Sharma said: “Tremors felt in Dubai. Earthquake hits Iran. At the eighth floor of my hotel it looked massive.”

However, several reported the news was being blown out of proportion.

Hala Al Gergawi tweeted: “Earthquake? I'm at floor 154 on Burj Khalifa!”
