Select nurseries in Dubai say they would remain open on Sunday in order to help working parents.

Although most nurseries have declared a six-day holiday from Sunday to Thursday for Eid, some institutions said they would remain open on the first day of the week.

This website spoke to several nurseries across Dubai who confirmed that they would be open on November 14.

“It is because parents are working. Many of them do not have nannies or maids to take care of the kids. So we have to remain open when the private sector is working,” said a staff at Hope Montessori School.

While most British and US curriculum nurseries said they had declared Eid holidays from November 16  to 18 (Tuesday to Thursday), nurseries would remain closed on Sunday and Monday due to the half-term break.

A British Orchard Nursery Jumeirah staff this morning said, “The nursery’s last working day will be November 11 and we will only start classes on November 21. We have clubbed the Eid holidays with the half-term so that children can avail an extended leave,” said the official.
