Over 2,000 aftershocks monitored after China's quake

A total of 2,044 aftershocks have been monitored in the quake-hit Lushan County on Monday morning, with the strongest measuring 5.4-magnitude, authorities said.

China Earthquake Administration said that four of the aftershocks were measured 5.0-5.9 magnitude, according to China's (Xinhua) News Agency.

A 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Lushan county, Ya'an city of southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Saturday , leaving at least 186 people dead and 11,393 injured, according to latest statistics from the provincial emergency response command center.

Lushan is about 200 kilometers from the epicenter of the massive Wenchuan earthquake 5 years ago that left 87,000 dead or missing.
