Passengers stranded at Delhi airport due to dense fog

Dense fog and zero visibility delays all early morning flights from New Delhi, including a 4.15am Dubai bound Emirates flight.

No takeoffs were possible at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Sunday morning with visibility dropping to near zero.

According to latest reports, about 75 domestic and international flights have been delayed, diverted or cancelled.

An Emirates airlines flight EK513 that was originally scheduled to depart at 4.15am is yet to take off. According to airport information, it is scheduled to take off only at 12.15 noon - a delay of almost seven hours.

Similarly another flight from Dubai to New Delhi EK512 that was scheduled to leave Dubai at 22:10 on Saturday has been delayed by nine hours and took off only at 7am this morning.

A Kuwait airways flight – KU381 - originally scheduled to reach Delhi at 9.30am has also been delayed.

About 12 international, mostly scheduled to depart late Saturday night and early Sunday morning have been rescheduled.

These include two international flights that were diverted to Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Lucknow and seven others that were delayed by up to four hours.
