MANILA: A still unidentified dead man, with his head and feet cut off, was found on Thursday morning inside a garbage bag thrown along the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), in Cabuyao City, Laguna, the province next to Metro Manila towards south.
It was Nilo Piong, a maintenance crew at SLEX, who discovered the body at about 5.57am on June 6, in the vicinity that is part of the city’s Barangay Pulo, the tabloid ‘Pilipino Star Ngayon’ reported.
It quoted Chief Superintendent Benito Estipona, police director of the Calabarzon Region, as saying that the victim was only clad in underpants when found by Piong, who reported the matter to his superiors and the police.
The police believed this was a case of summary execution, and vowed to conduct investigations to identify the victim and bring the criminals to book.
