On Sunday, February 10, pop princess Sarah Geronimo will sing and dance farewell to the audience and viewers of ‘Sarah G Live’, as her weekly musical variety show on ABS-CBN and TFC, or The Filipino Channel, stages its final show.

She is, of course, sad to see the curtain fall on her one-year-old show, but at the same time happy that she’ll soon be taking her post as one of the judges of ‘The Voice of the Philippines’. She’s also busy doing a movie, ‘It Takes a Man and a Woman’, with John Lloyd Cruz, and will soon have her own drama anthology.

“After a year of bringing world-class performances to Filipino viewers here … and in TFC markets around the world, Sarah Geronimo moves to fulfil other commitments,” Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN’s Integrated Communications, said in a statement, adding that the singer-actress has just renewed her contract with the network.

To be hosted by singer, actress, and model Toni Gonzaga, ‘The Voice of the Philippines’ will have its premiere on the country’s biggest network (under the business unit of director Laurenti Dyogi) around the second quarter of the year after the Season 4 finale of ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’.

The singing talent show is a franchise of ‘The Voice’, which was created by the business tycoon John de Mol and first aired in The Netherlands with the title ‘The Voice of Holland’.
De Mol is also the creator of ‘Big Brother’, ‘Deal or No Deal’, ‘1 Vs 100’, and ‘Fear Factor’, among other hits.

The singing talent show’s first audition in the Philippines was conducted last month, after initial auditions were done in Los Angeles and San Francisco in September, owing to a big number of Filipinos living in those American cities.

Those who want to audition must be 16 years old and above and of Filipino ancestry, and must prepare two songs that shall be sung acapella, or with no background music and instruments at hand.
